In this pre-opening and operating role, you will lead the People & Culture strategy for a luxury hotel, building the HR function from the ground up and guiding 90-100 hires. You will shape employer branding, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster an inclusive, high-performance culture. You’ll partner with the Executive Committee to align HR with IHG standards and Italian law, driving engagement, development, and wellbeing. This strategic leadership position offers broad impact on the guest experience and hotel success.

Develop and execute HR strategy for pre-opening and ongoing operations

Lead recruitment for 90-100 colleagues across departments

Build employer branding and partner with schools, universities, and agencies

Ensure compliance with Italian Labour Law, CCNL, contracts, and jurisprudence

Manage employee relations, discipline, disputes, and legal compliance

Ensure HR processes comply with GDPR and privacy laws

Develop and implement HR policies aligned with IHG standards and Italian law

Lead onboarding, performance management, succession planning, learning & development, and engagement initiatives

Foster trust, collaboration,

Coach heads of departments on leadership, employee relations, and performance

Oversee payroll administration with Finance and external providers

Manage HR operating budget including payroll, recruitment, training, and engagement

Ensure accurate HR reporting, workforce planning, and organizational development

Experience as Director of Human Resources or Senior HR Manager in luxury five-star hotels

Experience with IHG Hotels & Resorts or international luxury hotel company preferred

Fluent in English and Italian (spoken and written)

Strong knowledge of Italian Labour Law, contracts, CCNL, and labour regulations

Excellent HR compliance understanding and ethics

High emotional intelligence, empathy, and interpersonal skills

Proven ability to build trust, inspire teams, and foster an inclusive culture

Outstanding leadership, coaching, and communication abilities
