Ensure product and manufacturing-process conformity through strong shop-floor quality presence, in-process inspection, nonconformity management, root-cause analysis and corrective-action follow-up. Acting as the operational Quality representative within production, the role promotes consistent application of drawings, specifications, procedures, control plans and quality standards while improving internal manufacturing quality performance.
Role Scope and Accountabilities
- Spend approximately 70% of working time in production areas, with the balance dedicated to analysis, reporting, investigations and corrective-action follow-up.
- Provide operational quality oversight for an assigned plant while collaborating across the wider three-plant manufacturing organisation.
- Operate primarily on a daytime schedule while recognising that manufacturing activity continues across shifts; prioritise risk-based coverage and effective handovers.
- Own timely detection, escalation and containment of internal product and process nonconformities; lead or coordinate root-cause investigations within the agreed quality governance model.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections during production.
- Verify compliance with drawings, specifications, work instructions and control plans.
- Identify, document and manage product and process non-conformities.
- Lead or support root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Analyse recurring defects, scrap and rework to identify improvement opportunities.
- Support shop-floor audits and follow up on corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Production and Engineering to improve manufacturing quality.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or a related technical field, or technical diploma with relevant experience.
- Previous experience in Quality Control, Manufacturing Quality or industrial production.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use dimensional measurement equipment.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, non-conformity management and root-cause analysis methodologies.
- Basic knowledge of SPC and quality metrics.
- Hands-on, shop-floor-oriented approach with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Good English is preferred.
