PMO Intern

19 ago - Napoli
Jhc Consulting

JHC Consulting acts as an independent advisory practice for boards, chief executives, and governing committees. We provide private counsel on matters of strategy and leadership, focusing on engagements where the internal view of a company requires an external, dissenting challenge. We are currently coordinating a significant engagement for our partner, a leading Italian firm, which requires careful oversight and structural support.

The PMO Intern will assist our principals in managing the lifecycle of these mandates. This position is a fully remote role focused on the administrative and operational discipline required to support high-level strategic advisory work.

The Role

As a PMO Intern, you will be responsible for the logistical health of our engagements. You will monitor the progress of specific mandates, ensuring that the timeline for reading, analysis, and drafting remains on track. Your daily tasks will involve organizing the flow of internal documents, maintaining the archive of signed memoranda, and assisting with the scheduling of critical reviews.

You will help the firm maintain its high standards by keeping the operational side of our advisory work orderly and efficient. This is not a role for the production of slide decks or presentations. You will instead focus on the structural integrity of our projects, ensuring that every piece of work moves through our rigorous revision process correctly.

You will gain a clear understanding of how a private practice manages complex intellectual mandates from start to finish.

What You Bring

We are looking for individuals who value clarity and order.

Because our firm relies almost exclusively on the written word, you should have a strong command of written English and an ability to organize complex information into clear logs and schedules. As this is an internship, we do not expect a long professional history, but we do require a high degree of intellectual maturity. Relevant background or requirements include:

- A university degree or current enrollment in a program related to business, law, or the humanities.

- The ability to read dense corporate documents and summarize their status accurately.

- Basic familiarity with project management principles and scheduling tools.

- A disciplined approach to independent work in a remote environment.

- Strong attention to detail, specifically regarding document versions and record-keeping.

- Discretion and the ability to handle confidential information with care.

- A preference for clear, plain language over corporate jargon.

How We Work

At JHC Consulting, we believe that writing is thinking. We do not participate in the typical ceremonies of management consulting. Every engagement results in a signed memorandum, authored by the person who conducted the analysis.

This model requires a high degree of individual accountability. The PMO function is essential to this because it protects the time our principals need for deep reading and scrutiny. By managing the operational details, you allow the firm to maintain its focus on rigorous, high-quality thinking.

We value the courage to name uncomfortable truths and the discipline required to trace every claim back to a clear assumption.

Working at JHC Consulting

This is a fully remote internship. We operate as a distributed practice, which gives you the autonomy to manage your own workspace. The work is intellectually demanding and requires a serious professional demeanor.

This is a paid position, and the compensation is competitive for the internship market. You will gain exposure to how high-level strategy and governance questions are handled at the board level, learning from principals with backgrounds in corporate finance and strategic advisory. While the firm is kept small by design, the impact of our written work is significant.

The final output of our firm is always a document with a name at the bottom. This practice of signing one's work creates a standard of accountability that we apply to every aspect of our business. As a PMO Intern, your contributions to the process will underpin the reliability of our counsel.

We expect the same level of care in the management of our projects as we do in the drafting of our arguments. You will be helping to build a permanent record of advisory work that our clients will hold on file for years to come.
