**Reports to**: Telescopes Business Unit Manager **About OHB Italia - Telescopes Department** The Telescope Department at OHB Italia is dedicated to the design, development, integration, and deployment of remotely operated optical telescopes supporting international Space Safety initiatives, including Space Surveillance and Tracking (SST) and Near-Earth Object (NEO) detection. Our Flyeye Telescope, renowned for its wide field of view and high automation, plays a vital role in planetary defense by continuously scanning the sky for hazardous space objects. Join a growing, high-tech environment and contribute to delivering advanced telescope systems from design to deployment in some of the most iconic observatory sites around the globe. **Position Overview** **Key Responsibilities**
- End-to-end project management for the development, installation, and commissioning of ground-based telescopes
- Planning, coordination, and control of all project phases, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in accordance with technical requirements
- Main technical and contractual interface with the Customer
- Coordination and management of external suppliers and subcontractors for manufacturing, integration, and installation
- Management and alignment of cross-functional internal teams (mechanical, optical, software, electrical, AIV)
- Organization and facilitation of project meetings, technical reviews, workshops, and on-site integration activities
- Definition and maintenance of project schedules (Gantt charts, milestones, resource allocations)




- Cost management: estimation, tracking, variance analysis, and corrective actions
- Risk identification, assessment, and mitigation throughout the project lifecycle
- Management of contractual changes and project modifications
- Monitoring of project progress and performance, with regular reporting to stakeholders
- Master’s Degree (MSc) in Mechanical, Aerospace, Optical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent)
- **Minimum 3 years of experience** in technical roles involving complex systems (ideally telescopes, astronomical observatories, optical instruments, or mechatronic platforms)
- **Minimum 3 years of experience** in managing technical projects, preferably in aerospace, defense, or observational instrumentation
- Strong knowledge of project planning techniques and tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel)
- Proficient in project budgeting, cost control, and economic analysis
- Solid experience in risk and change management
- Proven leadership, coordination, and team management capabilities
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally for site surveys, installations, and reviews
- Fluent English, both spoken and written (ability to produce complex documentation and interact effectively with international partners); Italian **What We Offer**
