Join us as a Data Scientist

What you will be doing

We are looking for an exceptional Data Scientist with strong expertise in Machine Learning methods and technologies, who is comfortable working in an agile but architecture-led environment. You will be responsible for analyzing large and complex datasets, and conceiving predictive models and algorithms that will drive our financial solutions.

This role is based at our headquarters in Milan, where - along with all the key people - as an active member of Satispay, you will be a core member of the Tech & Product Team, helping fuel the growth of the Satispay Group (Italy, Luxembourg, France and soon other countries) in activities such as:

- Identify opportunities for leveraging machine learning to enhance our offerings and processes
- Analyze large and complex data sets to uncover hidden patterns and insights
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models to solve business problems, forecast customer behavior, and improve the user experience
- Design and implement experiments to test hypotheses and evaluate the impact of new features.




- Collaborate with Satispay cross-functional teams to build a best-in-class data infrastructure and perform analysis on large sets of data to extract impactful insights on user behavior that will help drive product and design decisions
- Continuously monitor and optimize machine learning models for accuracy and performance
- Communicate findings and insights in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders across Satispay
- Stay up to date with the latest developments and best practices in machine learning and data science.

What we need

Above and beyond a strong technical expertise, our ideal candidate has proven business judgment, along with great communication skills. If you think you are able to take complex, ambiguous topics and create compelling narratives for various and diverse audiences - both external stakeholders and colleagues - then submit your application.

You have:

- Relevant experience or a master-level degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics or another quantitative subject area (PhD is a plus)
- A thorough understanding of statistical modeling, and 3+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on Machine Learning and Deep Learning
- Expertise with statistical techniques and their applications in business
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- Ability to contribute to the design of data engineering pipelines to feed and monitor Machine Learning applications
- Problem solving skills, to grasp and tackle loosely defined problems,



and come up with relevant answers and impactful insights
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, which make you comfortable working with multiple stakeholders
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Knowledge of MLOps methodology and Spark is a plus
- Experience in the Fintech industry is a plus

Knowledge of French or other European languages is considered a plus.

The role is based in Milan with a hybrid work policy.
