The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and technical support of a broad portfolio of Stryker medical technologies, ensuring our customers receive timely and high‑quality service. A key aspect of this position is the ability to independently plan and manage your service schedule across your territory. You will take full ownership of organising customer visits, balancing preventive maintenance, repairs, installations, and administrative activities while adapting to customer needs and priorities.

Responsibilities
- Repair and inspect Stryker electronic/mechanical products (hospital beds and stretchers, ambulance stretchers, defibrillators).
- Perform annual inspection and calibration according to the MDR, at the customer’s site.
- Use software and technology tools to properly document and archive technical reports of performed activities and access technical information.
- Assist the Quality Department/customer with any product recalls, field safety alerts, and field action notices.
- Fulfil service contracts with scheduled maintenance.
- Provide technical training to internal and external personnel.
- Perform installation of Stryker systems at the customer’s site.
- Perform software and hardware updates.
- Provide technical support to internal (sales team) and external customers.
- Efficient and comprehensive documentation of service activities for internal and external use.
- Ensure billing for services provided and contribute to achieving sales goals.
- Ensure the traceability of all Stryker products in the field through reporting tools.
- Ensure excellent follow‑up on all customer issues.
- Schedule customer visits in collaboration with the sales team or customer service.
Work Conditions
Work will take place in a variety of settings, including the shop floor, hospitals, and various customer sites. Field Service Engineers will interact with key customers and stakeholders, including hospital staff, clinical engineering staff and managers, maintenance personnel, procurement, and purchasing personnel. Travel will be regular within the defined region, and travel expenses will be covered according to Stryker's standard travel policy. Attend regular meetings and team meetings. Attend team meetings and give presentations to encourage team development. This is a field‑based position, with 80% travel. The remainder of the time will be home‑based/working remotely.

Required
- Bachelor’s degree in electronic/mechanical/biomedical engineering, equivalent study in medical device technology, or at least one of the following: Electrical / Electronics / Telecommunications / Mechanical / Software Technological subjects.
- Fluent Italian English at B2 level or above,
with the ability to participate in international training and communicate confidently with global colleagues.
- Adequate computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook).
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in medical device repair or in the hospital and healthcare industry, combined with good mechanical skills.
- IT experience at an administrative and technical level.
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external customers to foster brand loyalty.

Work Flexibility
- Remote – Role allows you to work the majority to 100% of time from an alternate workplace. These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location.
- Field‑based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field‑based.
- Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category.
- Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
