We are seeking a **Technician in Advanced Light Microscopy Facility** to join our team. **Main Responsabilities**
- Daily management and maintenance of advanced light microscopy systems
- Technical assistance and support for users in operating microscopes and analyzing images
- Conducting microscopy experiments for research projects in collaboration with research groups
- Training and mentoring users in sample preparation and the use of imaging software
- Preventive maintenance and diagnostics of microscopy equipment
- Collaborating with research teams to optimize imaging protocols
- Managing bookings and the overall organization of the facility **Department Overview** Our Advanced Light Microscopy Facility houses the latest advancements in light microscopy, including confocal microscopy, fluorescence microscopy, live-cell imaging, super-resolution microscopy, and more. This diversity in technology enables us to capture high-resolution, detailed images critical for groundbreaking research. We understand that the quality of microscopy images greatly depends on the preparation of the specimen. Our team offers expert support in sample preparation to ensure specimens from scientists are optimally prepared for imaging. This includes advice on fixation, staining, and mounting techniques tailored to your specific research needs. Beyond capturing images, our facility provides comprehensive image analysis services.
We offer both standardized analysis protocols and the development of dedicated software solutions, ensuring that scientists can extract meaningful data from the images acquired. **Qualification** Excellent skills in light microscopy, with comprehensive experience in advanced imaging techniques, image analysis and sample preparation. Key Competencies: - In-depth knowledge of fluorescence microscopy (wide-field, confocal);
- Proficient in time-lapse live-cell imaging and FLIM/FRET techniques;
- Skilled in advanced image analysis platforms (ImageJ/Fiji, Imaris, MATLAB, etc.);
- Experience with microscope troubleshooting, optimization, and maintenance;
- Strong understanding of sample preparation, staining, and labelling techniques;
- Capable of training researchers and supporting microscopy-based experimental design;
**Education** Bachelor's degree or higher in biological sciences, biomedical engineering, physics or a related field;
**Languages** Fluent English spoken and written;
**Soft Skills** Communication skills, be self motivated and be eager to work in a collaborative and constructive lab environment;
