OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST
Within the framework of the UNESCO and the Italian Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the UNESCO “World Water Assessment Programme - WWAP”, under the overall supervision of the WWAP Coordinator and reporting directly to its Process Coordinator, the Video and Graphic Designer will perform the following duties:
Layout and design on the United Nations World Water Development Reports (UN WWDR)
UN WWDR 2025 ( ~ 200 Pages)
Prepare and revise the layout of the Spanish edition of the UN WWDR 2025 based on the existing template.
Finalize the print-ready file incorporating comments from WWAP and partners.
Long Description
UN WWDR 2026 (~(200 pages)
Develop initial internal design proposals for the UN WWDR 2026 in line with WWAP’s visual identity and strategic goals.
**Layout and finalize**:
Main Report (English, French) ((~200 pages each)
Executive Summary and Facts & Figures (English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese) (~ 12-20 pages each)
Design and finalize report covers (main report, executive summary, facts & figures) in line with the UNESCO CPE guidelines.
Redraw and vectorize figures and tables for clarity and publication-readiness.
Create and deliver source layout templates (InDesign files or equivalent) to enable translations and adaptations.

Layout and design of other WWAP Publications
Design and layout of the publication “Challenging the Usual” - Proceedings of the Pisa International Workshop on Water and Gender (~80 papges):
Visual concepts, layout proofs, and finalized versions.
Design and layout of the thematic paper on “The Impact of Non-Climate Drivers on Glacier Melt” (~30 Pages):
From draft layouts to final print-ready version.
Long Description
Preparation of outreach and communication materials
Conceptualization and layout of the WWAP 25th Anniversary Brochure (~30 pages), including visual identity suggestions and publication-ready files.
UN WWDR launches
Produce a short video trailer for the UN WWDR 2026
Design and layout of PowerPoint slide decks for WWDR 2026 launch events and key advocacy activities.
Preparation of social media assets (cards, banners, animated snippets) to promote reports and milestones.
Layout of event flyers, digital invitations, and e-banners for use in:
Thematic or regional workshops and UN WWDRs inspired Capacity building events
WWAP’s Multi-stakeholder Coalition events
Production of infographics and data visualizations to communicate key findings and statistics from WWAP reports.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Academic Qualifications
A university degree in visual arts, communication, or a related field is required.
Technical Competencies and Experience Requirements
A minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in video and graphic design.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and After Effects.
Competence in video and audio editing software, such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, Logic Pro, or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience in designing print and web materials, as well as in video editing and motion design.
Solid command of the English language is required.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Additional skills
Computer skills such as ability to use Mac and Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office suit,
Familiarity with the design and visual standards of the United Nations World Water Development Report series or similar UN publications will be desirable.
Familiarity with the UN‐System will be an asset.
