Lead One of Italy's Most Critical Supply Chain Operations

Our client is a leading global pharmaceutical organisation whose products improve the lives of millions of patients worldwide.

We are seeking an exceptional Supply Chain & Distribution Centre Director to lead the end-to-end supply chain function across Italy while overseeing a strategically important 20,000 sqm distribution centre operation. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role sits at the heart of the business and will play a critical part in ensuring operational excellence, service performance, compliance and future growth.

The Opportunity

As Supply Chain & Distribution Centre Director, you will have full responsibility for the Italian supply chain network, encompassing planning, inventory management, customer fulfilment, logistics, warehousing and distribution centre operations.

You will lead a team of approximately 50 employees, driving performance, engagement and continuous improvement across all aspects of the operation.

Working closely with commercial, finance, quality, regulatory and global supply chain teams, you will ensure product availability, optimise operational costs and deliver best-in-class customer service while maintaining the highest standards of compliance within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the end-to-end supply chain strategy and execution for Italy
- Direct all activities within a 20,000 sqm distribution centre operation




- Manage and develop a team of approximately 50 supply chain, warehouse and logistics professionals
- Ensure excellent service levels and product availability for customers across Italy
- Own inventory management, demand planning, supply planning and distribution performance
- Drive operational excellence, productivity improvements and cost optimisation initiatives
- Develop KPIs, performance metrics and governance processes across the organisation
- Partner closely with Finance, Commercial, Quality, Regulatory and Global Supply Chain teams
- Lead transformation, digitalisation and continuous improvement programmes
- Ensure full compliance with GDP, pharmaceutical regulations and corporate standards
- Act as a key member of the Italian leadership team, influencing strategic business decisions

What We're Looking For
- Significant leadership experience within supply chain, logistics, operations or distribution
- Proven experience managing large-scale warehousing and distribution centre operations
- Strong people leadership experience, including managing multi-level teams
- Background within pharmaceuticals, healthcare, medical devices, life sciences or similarly regulated industries is highly desirable
- Demonstrated success leading supply chain transformation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience operating within complex multinational organisations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage at executive level
- Fluent Italian and English
