Job Title Commissioning Manager - Data Centre Summary

We're looking for an experienced Commissioning Manager to join a major data centre project in Milan. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong technical background and proven project management expertise who want to deliver large-scale critical infrastructure projects. You'll play a key part in ensuring successful commissioning and compliance while working with some of the most advanced technology environments.

Location and Working Pattern

Location: Milan, Italy (onsite at the data centre)

Rotation: 3/1-week rotation may be required, with project relocation support available

Travel: Domestic and international travel as required

Applicants must have full working rights in Italy

Client Overview

Responsibilities

- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets for the commissioning process
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including construction, commissioning, and facilities management
- Oversee procurement and commissioning of equipment and infrastructure systems




- Manage testing, validation, and risk mitigation for all data centre systems
- Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors for clear communication and alignment
- Provide technical oversight on design, infrastructure, and operations
- Track project costs, report progress, and ensure standards compliance
- Prepare and maintain full commissioning documentation and handover materials

Must-have Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing large or complex data centre or critical infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of data centre design, commissioning practices, and compliance standards
- Excellent project planning and stakeholder management skills
- Familiarity with data centre standards and regulations
- Ability to work onsite in Milan and travel as needed

Nice-to-have Skills
- PMP or equivalent project management certification
- Hands-on experience with hyperscale data centres
- Previous involvement in large-scale commissioning projects
