Assistant Manager - Restaurant Operations

Position Overview
This is an hourly (non-exempt) leadership role that reports to the General Manager and ownership. As an Assistant Manager, you'll lead daily restaurant operations, making sure every guest has a great visit while keeping the location running to standard. You'll manage the team, the processes, and the flow of a shift - making sure policies, procedures, and service expectations are followed on the floor, in the kitchen, and at the counter.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Training & Development
Complete all required training, including the Assistant Manager Development Plan, Basic Operations Training, Food Safety Certification, Manager Certification, and any additional courses assigned through ZaxBax.
Make sure every team member is properly trained, coached, and developed so they grow and perform at their best.
Guest & Team Experience
Ensure guests are consistently served with care and that the team goes above and beyond expectations on every order.




Lead by example to build a positive, upbeat culture and keep team morale high through recognition and genuine appreciation.
Keep a pulse on guest and team concerns, complaints, and incidents - responding quickly, respectfully, and keeping the General Manager informed.
Operations & Standards
Keep service speed, food quality, and cleanliness at the level our guests expect.
Make sure the team follows all Zaxby's Franchising LLC and ZaxBax guidelines, policies, and procedures every shift.
Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Use the management tools available to keep accurate, organized, and current records.
Leadership & Staffing
Plan and delegate shift assignments, clearly communicating expectations and making adjustments as they come up.
Coach and mentor team members to perform at their highest ability and work toward the location's quarterl
