Development Manager

Location and Work Arrangement The Italian headquarters of Sungrow Renewables is located in Milan. The position can be performed mainly remotely, with periodic visits to Milan.

Reporting line: Country Manager

Objective The Development Manager will be responsible for defining and implementing the overall development strategy for utility-scale BESS & solar projects nationwide. The role involves overseeing and accelerating the development of renewable energy projects, managing internal and external stakeholders, and achieving project objectives within established timelines and budgets.

The position requires leadership skills in team management, strategic planning, stakeholder coordination, and regulatory compliance. The Development Manager will work closely with senior management to ensure alignment of the country's development strategy with corporate objectives.

Main Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Development

- Collaborate closely with senior management to define and implement the development strategy for utility-scale projects.
- Define and manage the development roadmap, identifying new business opportunities in line with corporate goals.
- Guide and develop the country’s development strategy, ensuring alignment with the Group's vision and objectives.

Budget and Financial Supervision

- Define development budgets and closely monitor project costs.
- Implement budget control processes to ensure the financial efficiency of projects.
- Participate in the preparation of monthly management reporting and provide financial performance analyses.

Stakeholder Management and Representation

- Represent the company in relations with key stakeholders, including local authorities, landowners,



financial partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Lead negotiations and coordinate contracts regarding land acquisition and securing, feasibility studies, environmental studies, building permits, and participation in tenders and bids.
- Ensure effective and collaborative relationships with municipal administrations, associations, and local communities for current and future projects.

Project Development and Permitting

- Oversee feasibility studies and manage the permitting process for new projects.
- Manage development project timelines, providing regular updates to senior management on progress and expected timelines for reaching Ready to Build (RTB) status.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements regarding land use and project permitting.

Competitive Advantage and Market Analysis

- Stay up to date on market developments, competitor activities, and technological innovations, with a specific focus on areas such as agrivoltaics.
- Perform competitive and regulatory intelligence to support the definition of project strategies and identify potential growth opportunities.
- Promote innovation in project development to strengthen the company’s competitive advantage in the renewable energy market.

Reporting and Monitoring





- Provide periodic reports to senior management on project progress, highlighting risks, critical issues, and opportunities.
- Ensure alignment with corporate strategic goals and monitor the development pipeline progress.

Financial and Project Support

- Support the preparation of financing dossiers and ensure proper management of the project pipeline, from development phase to commissioning.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support securing finance and ensure effective project execution until commissioning.

Requirements and Skills

- Proven experience of at least 5 years in project development within the energy sector, specifically in utility-scale BESS & photovoltaic projects.
- Solid experience in team work and leadership, with a strong focus on performance optimization.
- Experience in project budget management, financial supervision, and cost control.
- Strong knowledge of the local regulatory framework and administrative processes related to land use and environmental permitting.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to lead large-scale projects from feasibility phase to permitting completion, ensuring adherence to milestones and scheduled timelines.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct market analysis.
- Excellent knowledge of both written and spoken Italian and English.
