About the opportunityAmentum is leading a joint venture (JV) delivering a Framework Contract for the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), providing intellectual support services to the nuclear decommissioning programme across multiple European sites.The JV supports JRC in accelerating decommissioning and waste management activities through provision of technical and programme support services, including:Project and programme managementLicensingRadioactive waste managementRadiation protectionDecommissioning and nuclear engineeringWorksite management and safetyNon-nuclear engineeringFacility supervision and quality assuranceRole OverviewFor the JRC Ispra site (Northern Italy), we are seeking Decommissioning Engineers / Managers across multiple experience levels. These roles support JRC in the management of radioactive waste across the decommissioning programme,



including waste characterisation, treatment, storage, and compliance with regulatory requirements. These are client-facing positions, providing technical and operational support services rather than direct execution of waste handling activities.Responsibilities include supporting waste management strategies, coordinating technical activities, and ensuring alignment with regulatory and programme requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport planning and coordination of decommissioning activities, including:development and review of dismantling strategies and methodologiesdefinition of work sequences and technical approachesidentification of constraints, risks and interfacesProvide technical input into:dismantling and cutting techniqueswaste generation forecasts and material flowsworksite arrangements, logistics and sequencingSupport preparation and review of technical documentation, including:d
