Overview:
The Menarini Group, a leading international pharmaceutical company, is looking for a Junior Patent Attorney. Based at our headquarters in Florence, Italy, this is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the growth of our company to new ambitious heights. You will be part of the Global Legal and General Affairs Department, Intellectual Property & Commercial Litigation, reporting directly to the Head of the Global Patent and Trademark Department. Your work will directly contribute to achievement of our business objectives, ensuring the Menarini Group’s intellectual property is robust and aligned with our strategic goals. Main Activities & Responsibilities: In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks including but not limited to: - _ identification of new inventions_: work with our R&D; and CMC teams to identify new inventions and assess potential patentability;
- _ management of the patent portfolio globally_: manage the Menarini Group's patent portfolio with the help of external patent counsels to ensure strong and comprehensive protection globally;
- _ strategic analysis_:
conduct detailed patentability assessments, freedom-to-operate analyses, and validity evaluation;
- _legal advice_: providing expert support and advice to internal departments on all patent-related matters. Job Requirements: - Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or another life sciences field.
- Qualified Italian Patent Attorney or part-qualified European Patent Attorney.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in the patent profession. Prior experience as an in-house patent attorney within a pharmaceutical company or in a life science sector will constitute a significant advantage.
- Proactive, business-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to clearly inform and advise various internal stakeholders.
- Outstanding proficiency in both spoken and written English and Italian is a must. Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
