Performs advanced and highly responsible supervisory and administrative work regarding the overall management assigned division or department. Responsible for diversified functions such as, but not limited to, operational support, policy development, strategic planning, performance management, training, budget development, procurement, personnel management support, special projects, as well as specific functions based on the area of assignment.

Examples of duties




- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
- Performs complex operational and administrative duties, analyzes data, draws conclusions and prepares reports and makes recommendations of practical solutions to division and department management.
- Manages daily work activities; organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; confers with assigned staff, assists with complex situations, and provides technical expertise.
- Consults with division/department management or other officials to review operations/activities, provide administrative support for program activities, review/resolve problems, receive advice/direction, and provide recommendations.
