/p /brpA community health worker is a front-line public health worker who is a trusted member of and/or has an unusually close understanding of the community served.
This trusting relationship enables the worker to serve as a liaison/link between health/social services and the community to facilitate access to services and improve the quality and cultural competence of service delivery.

/p /brh3Position Details: /h3 /brpLocated at MERCY HOSPITAL /p /brpSPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI /p /brpFULL TIME - ONSITE /p /brh3Minimum Required Qualifications /h3 /brh3Education: /h3 /brpHigh School Diploma or equivalent /p /brh3Licensure: /h3 /brpNone /p /brh3Experience: /h3 /brp1-3 years CHW experience or equivalent /p /brh3Certification/Registration: /h3 /brpMercy provided Community Health Worker training certificate within 6-12 months /p /brpBasic Life Support /p /brh3Other Skills and Knowledge: /h3 /brpStrong relationship and collaboration skills.
/p /brpExcellent communication skills.
/p /brpAbility to work independently.
/p /brpCompassion for poor and underserved members of the community.




/p /brpMust be proficient with Microsoft Applications and be able to document in an EMR.
/p /brpMust have access to reliable transportation.
