Reports To: Building Principal/Special Education Supervisor

Work Schedule: 7.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday

Salary: $30,899.00starting annual salary

Qualifications

- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have a minimum of 48 semester hours of secondary education or have passed the PRAXIS PARAPRO exam
- One or two years related experience working with students with disabilities is preferred
- Must pass the written test or meet the educational requirements of the "No Child Left Behind Act"
- Ability to meet the requirements and apply for an Educational Aide Permit with the Ohio Department of Education
- Ability to work effectively with students this may include students who display aggressive, abusive, or inappropriate verbal and/or physical behavior




- Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively
- Organizational and problem solving skills
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing situationsAbility to assume responsibility for supervising students
- Knowledge and ability to apply behavior management techniques in enforcing school discipline in an appropriate context
- Must possess the physical strength and ability required to lift, assist restrain, or pursue handicapped students
- Clerical skills; including knowledge of office machines
- Previous experience working with computers preferred
- Maintains a good attendance record and is punctual
