ph3COST ENGINEER / ESTIMATOR /h3pLocation: Milan, Italy Duration: September **** – January **** Project: Safaniyah Water Handling Project Division PMT This opportunity supports a major detail design EPC project within the oil, gas and energy sector, focused on cost engineering, estimating, CAPEX planning and project controls.
The role offers the chance to contribute to a large-scale water handling project by providing cost management insight, forecasting and reporting that help keep delivery aligned with budget and schedule.
This position would suit professionals with strong experience in cost management, estimating and project execution within capital projects.
/ph3Key Responsibilities /h3ulliCommunicate assigned project issues/concerns directly to Project Manager, (Sr. Cost Engineer) and Business Administrator.
/liliDevelop and maintain cost reports, cash flow and contingency analyses for the individual projects.
/liliProvide Cost Estimates.
/liliAdminister Change Orders and Bid box as required by procedure.
/liliEstimates costs of positive / negative scope changes and assess impact on total project cost: work with estimators to get assistance if needed.
/liliEnsure accurate reflection of committed/spent funds, Change Alerts, Project deviation notices, field change orders, and project execution changes in all cost documents relating to the construction phase.
/liliAssist with managing existing and amended AEL values.
/liliLiaison with Human Resource Department to monitor office space which is billable to the project as required to ensure that the project is not billed for space not being used.




/liliDerive an accurate and realistic forecast of all funds required to complete the project within the defined budget and schedule while incorporating own trending and analysis and consult with the Project Manager prior to publishing.
/liliEnsure accurate representation of cost data in weekly, monthly and ad hoc reporting.
/liliAlert Coordinating Cost Management Office and Business Management Office and the project team to critical Cost Management issues.
/liliProvide assistance for additional cost management related studies and scenarios if required.
/liliPrepare and update monthly project updates (MPU).
/liliReview of Contractor Progress Payment Certificates for Engineering, Procurement and Construction.
/liliProcess Service Entry Sheets through SAP once the invoice is approved.
/liliPO creation and WBS corrections through SAP.
/liliMonitor, analyze verify project Controllable Costs on a monthly basis through the Operating Statement Dashboard.
/liliChange Management (follow the process from COR to settlement).
/li /ulh3Required Education Certifications /h3pUndergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (Required) /ph3Required Experience /h3ulli5–10 years of experience in the cost management field.




/liliExperience working on capital projects within an EPC project environment.
/liliPractical estimating experience gained through project execution.
/li /ulh3Required Skills /h3ulliStrong cost engineering and estimating capability.
/liliAbility to review engineering drawings and break down scope of work into quantifiable tasks.
/liliBudget tracking, variance analysis, cash flow management and forecasting skills.
/liliChange order evaluation and cost adjustment capability.
/liliEnglish communication skills, written and verbal.
/liliAnalytical ability and strong desktop application skills.
/liliKnowledge of procedures relevant to cost engineering and estimating.
/liliExperience using SAP, Capital Dashboard, EPM, e-market place and Power BI.
/liliAbility to plan, organise, analyse and solve problems effectively.
/liliAbility to communicate openly and effectively with project stakeholders.
/li /ulh3Preferred Skills, Experience Qualifications /h3pMega capital projects experience preferred.
