Job DescriptionWe are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Assistant Sommelier to join our esteemed culinary team at Constance Halaveli, Maldives. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a luxury resort environment, supporting our Head Sommelier in delivering exceptional wine experiences to our discerning international guests. The successful candidate will play a vital role in curating wine selections, providing expert recommendations, and ensuring impeccable service standards across our fine dining establishments. - Assist in the selection, procurement, and management of our wine collection, ensuring quality and variety across all price points • Provide knowledgeable wine recommendations to guests,
considering their preferences, cuisine selections, and budget requirements • Execute precise wine service techniques, including opening, decanting, and serving wines at optimal temperatures - Conduct wine tastings and educational sessions for guests and staff to enhance appreciation and knowledge • Maintain detailed records of wine inventory, stock rotation, and cellar conditions to ensure optimal preservation • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and refine food and wine pairing menus • Assist in training and mentoring junior service staff on wine service protocols and product knowledge - Monitor and manage wine stock levels, placing orders and liaising with suppliers to maintain availability • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations pertaining to beverage service • Contribute to the development of wine lists and promotional materials that reflect the
