Senior Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with Kotlin to join one of our portfolio companies.
This is a remote position with occasional travel to the company's office.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional, capable of multitasking and collaborating effectively within a team. You should have strong architectural thinking, along with extensive experience in Kotlin and Java. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, developing, and evolving our back-end systems, leveraging Kotlin to build scalable and high-performing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and enhance features for their powerful back-end system that processes millions of requests daily.
Take charge of developing and maintaining advanced Kotlin-based backend systems that support flight search, booking, and post-booking functionalities. Ensure the systems are scalable, reliable, and efficient.
Uphold and enhance code quality through rigorous testing, code reviews, and implementing best practices in software development. Mentor junior developers in these practices.
Continuously explore and integrate new technologies and methodologies to improve system functionality and performance. Focus on optimizing flight search algorithms and enhancing user experience.
Participate actively in all phases of the product development lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation and release. Drive continuous improvement in processes and technologies.
What You'll Need to Succeed
5+ years of experience in Kotlin / Java
Demonstrated ability in designing, building, and maintaining high-performance, scalable, and reliable backend systems. Experience with flight booking systems or in in the travel industry is highly beneficial.
Ability to tackle complex problems, think analytically, and come up with creative and efficient solutions.
Commitment to code quality, documentation, and sound testing practices. Experience with performance tuning and optimization techniques.
