ABOUT RAVEN
Raven is a proprietary crypto market-making and high-frequency trading firm. We trade spot, perpetuals, and prediction markets with dedicated low-latency infrastructure across eight major trading regions. We hire competitive individuals and natural problem solvers with a record of ranking at something hard, whether competitive programming, games, or mathematics, who treat an unfamiliar problem as a challenge rather than an obstacle. We can teach markets; we cannot teach drive.
We build our own stack end to end, from connectivity and pricing through execution, monitoring, and research data.
THE ROLE
The platform around the trading path is what makes the firm operable. Live visibility is the screen the desk trusts, covering balances, trades, and the health of the estate itself. The trade record is the ledger of every fill on every venue, feeding PnL, risk, reconciliation, and research. Underneath both sit the shared services every strategy leans on. These systems exist and they work. The mandate is to make them low-latency and hard to kill, without ever dropping the consumers already attached. None of them is allowed to be wrong, and none is allowed to be slow.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Firm-wide visibility: One live picture of the firm, ingested in real time from every venue and internal system - balances and positions everywhere we hold risk, trades from order to fill, and the estate itself, from exchange sessions and blockchain nodes to hosts and links across eight regions. High-cardinality aggregation, alerting with signal instead of noise, and blind spots you close before they hide an incident.
The trade record: Every fill captured the moment it happens into the ledger read by PnL, risk, reconciliation, research, and increasingly auditors. One schema has to hold a centralized-venue fill, an on-chain settlement with its gas cost and confirmation depth, and a prediction-market resolution, without flattening away what makes each different. Fast to write, fast to query, correct forever.
Core and shared infrastructure: How every component reaches every other one across message transport and pub/sub across processes, hosts, and regions, the databases the firm reads and writes, service discovery, configuration and state, and the internal APIs that hold the estate together. Held to the same latency standard as the trading path.
The optimization mandate: Profile first. Find the slow parts of code you did not write, rewrite hot paths without breaking the consumers who never stopped depending on them, and leave every system you touch with better numbers than you found.
Operations: These systems run around the clock because markets do, and keeping them healthy includes watching the thing that watches everything else.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- You have built and operated internal platforms, observability systems, or trade capture in real-time production environments, and owned them long after launch
- Brownfield performance engineering. You can profile a system you did not write, find where the time actually goes, and make it faster without breaking a single consumer
- Comfort with heterogeneous sources of truth. Exchange, on-chain, and prediction-market events carry different notions of finality, and one ledger has to reconcile all three
- Deep Rust or modern C++. The stack is Rust, and you will be productive in it fast
- Data-systems judgment across time-series storage, indexing, and schemas that stay queryable at scale
- Firm-wide visibility has a front end. You do not have to love it, but you cannot avoid it
- You measure before you optimize, and your numbers survive scrutiny
- Fluent English. It is the working language across both offices
- No degree or certifications required. HFT pedigree is welcome; evidence is mandatory

- Sofia (Bulgaria) or Milan (Italy), with no preference between them. Whichever city the right person is in
- In office, not remote
- Crypto trades around the clock. You will share a sane on-call rotation with the team that owns these systems
