Antal International
An international cosmetics group is establishing a new industrial site in the Greater Milan Metropolitan area, dedicated to color cosmetics manufacturing, including foundations, emulsions and color bases.
The site, which currently employs approximately 40–45 people, is entering its ramp-up phase.
In this context, we are looking for an experienced IT Manager – Manufacturing & Digital Transformation to take ownership of the site's IT environment and play a key role in building, developing and securing its technology landscape.
This is not a purely corporate IT or ERP position. It is a highly autonomous, hands-on industrial IT role, combining infrastructure, cybersecurity, manufacturing systems, business applications and digital transformation.
Your role
Reporting directly to the Corporate IT organization in the US, with a dotted-line relationship to the local Plant Leadership and R&D; teams, you will act as the key interface between site operations and Corporate IT.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Take ownership of the site's IT infrastructure, systems and applications
- Ensure the reliability, security and continuity of the IT environment
- Manage and develop networks, servers, infrastructure and cybersecurity
- Support the IT requirements of the manufacturing and shop-floor environment
- Contribute to the development of the site's IT architecture during its ramp-up
- Drive the implementation and integration of digital solutions supporting Production, Planning, Supply Chain, Logistics and Quality
- Support and develop ERP, Production Planning, MES and other manufacturing-related applications
- Translate operational requirements into effective and sustainable technology solutions
- Lead local IT implementation, transformation and modernization projects
- Ensure alignment with Corporate IT architecture, cybersecurity policies and global standards
- Coordinate external IT partners and service providers where required
- Support users and key business stakeholders across the site
- Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and digitalize industrial processes
- Manage critical incidents and contribute to business continuity
Your profile
We are looking for a senior IT professional with significant experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
You may currently be working as an IT Manager, Plant IT Manager, Site IT Manager, Manufacturing IT Manager or IT & Digital Manager.
More importantly, you should have already been directly involved in building, developing, modernizing or significantly transforming an industrial IT environment.
You will ideally bring:
- Strong experience in IT infrastructure, networks, servers and cybersecurity
- Proven exposure to manufacturing operations and shop-floor environments
- Good understanding of industrial business processes across Production, Planning, Supply Chain, Logistics and Quality
- Experience with ERP and manufacturing applications
- Exposure to MES and Production Planning systems
- A successful track record in IT transformation, implementation or greenfield/ramp-up projects
- Ability to combine a strategic perspective with a pragmatic and hands-on approach
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- High degree of autonomy and ownership
- Ability to operate effectively within an international and matrix organization
- Strong communication skills and the ability to bridge the gap between Operations and IT
- Fluent professional English, enabling regular interaction with US-based and international stakeholders
Experience with Oracle EBS would be valuable but is not a prerequisite: we are not looking for a pure Oracle specialist.
Experience gained within cosmetics, pharmaceutical/CDMO, chemicals, ingredients, food, packaging or other process manufacturing environments would be particularly relevant.
Why join?
This is an opportunity to join an industrial site at a particularly important stage of its development.
Rather than inheriting a fully mature environment, you will have the opportunity to shape and develop the site's IT landscape as operations ramp up, while benefiting from the support and standards of an international Corporate IT organization.
The position offers a combination of operational ownership, international exposure, technology leadership and genuine transformation responsibility.
Location: Greater Milan Metropolitan area, Lombardy – on-site industrial role
Permanent position
Compensation: target salary around €70,000 gross per year, with some flexibility depending on experience, expertise and overall fit.
Applications will be treated with strict confidentiality.
