Accountant/Finance Manager – Italy Services DepartmentLocation: Milan, Italy
Reports to: Europe Regional Finance Director
Salary: €50,000–60,000
PurposeThe Finance Manager will have full ownership of the Italy Services entity (c.15 employees), leading all financial, payroll, and statutory activities. This is a hands‑on role combining financial control, accounting, payroll coordination, and business partnering within a small, standalone entity environment.
Responsibilities
- Financial Control & AccountingMaintain full ownership of the general ledger and accounting records; record and analyse salaries, including payroll postings and reconciliations; manage fixed assets (capitalisation, movements, and monthly depreciation); record purchase invoices, staff expenses, and ensure compliance with deductibility rules; prepare and post accruals and deferrals (G&A; and other costs); manage bank postings, reconciliations, and transaction allocations.
- Payments & Cash ManagementOversee and process all payments including salaries, tax payments, pension funds, and suppliers; VAT,
corporate taxes, and other statutory payments; act as secondary approver on banking platforms; monitor cash flow and working capital.
- VAT, Tax & Statutory CompliancePrepare and submit VAT returns and maintain VAT registers; manage quarterly and annual tax declarations; coordinate with external advisors (CPA, payroll consultant); ensure compliance with Italian statutory and tax requirements.
- Management Reporting & PlanningPrepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis; produce additional reporting (e.g. Prophix reports); support budgeting and forecasting processes including P&L; and G&A; cost planning, salary cost projections; reconcile budget/forecast vs. actuals.
- Payroll AdministrationAct as key interface with outsourced payroll provider; collect and submit monthly payroll inputs (absences, sick leave, parental leave, salary adjustments, working hour changes, expense reimbursements, benef
