ERASMUS+ INTERNSHIP in COMPUTATIONAL SCIENCES - Deep Learning models for automatic writer/hand identification

Commitment & contract: Full-time internship within the Erasmus+ Traineeship programme for undergraduate students enrolled in a master’s degree programme; the position requires a time commitment of 40 hours/week (tempo pieno).
Location: Center for Cultural Heritage Technology, Roncade (Treviso), Italy
Duration: 6 months
Start date: 15/01/2027 (flexible)
Compensation: No salary granted by IIT (applicants must rely on funding from their University’s Erasmus+ programme )

THE ROLE
During your internship you will work on a project in the Cultural Heritage Technologies ( ) group, coordinated by Arianna Traviglia . This group focuses on Cultural Heritage Technologies: Automatic Document Analysis.
Your activity will comprise
- State-of-the-art models report preparation
- Data understanding
- Software development of automatic writer/hand identification
And will allow you to develop competences in
- Software management (e.g., Git use)
- Data preparation to train Deep Learning models
- Use of PyTorch and/or HuggingFace
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- To be registered as a student in an undergraduate master’s degree programme in Computer engineering, Computer Science or a cognate fieldofstudy for the entire duration of your stay at IIT
- To have a good command of spoken and written English
- To rely on funding from your University’s Erasmus+ programme
