Role Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer, Back-End Developer you'll play a key role in designing, building, and deploying scalable, high-quality systems. You'll get to work with back-end technologies—primarily Java—and embrace DevOps tools to streamline workflows. Working closely with the Product team, you'll help improve and innovate our payment solutions, delivering features that meet user needs.
Our tech stack includes Linux, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Java, Jersey, Spring, and DynamoDB. We rely on AWS for our infrastructure, with RESTful microservices on EC2, RDS/DynamoDB for databases, S3 for storage, AWS Lambda for serverless functions, and Kinesis and ElasticSearch for log streaming. You'll take ownership of your work from start to finish, contributing to what we believe is the best payment system out there.
Your mission:
- Understand user needs. Use your analytical skills to identify and address user needs, ensuring our solutions are intuitive, effective, and user-focused.
- Build and improve products.
Help create new features and enhance existing ones, driving the continuous improvement of Satispay's offerings.
- Make a difference. Take pride in simplifying payments and improving accessibility, directly contributing to Satispay’s mission while positively impacting users across Europe.
- Collaborate across teams. Work closely with different departments to design and deliver features that truly meet user needs.

Your ideal profile:
- Extensive Experience. You have at least 7 years of experience in back-end software engineering, with a proven track record of working with microservices, cloud environments, and Agile methodologies.
- Programming expertise. You have deep experience working with Java or other object-oriented programming languages (C#, Python, C++, GO, Rust) and a strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS is a plus).
- Structured communication. You are able to communicate in a structured and convincing manner, adapting your style to build trust positively and professionally with various stakeholders.
- Passion and language skills. You are passionate about FinTech or startup environments and fluent in Italian and English.
