Freelance Software Developer – Project Based

Matherika Group is looking for a Freelance Software Developer to collaborate on project-based initiatives focused on the development and enhancement of digital solutions for the financial and commodities sectors.

The successful candidate will work closely with management and the operational team, translating business requirements into reliable, scalable, and user-friendly applications, internal tools, and software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop web applications and software tools for internal use and/or client-facing purposes.
- Build dashboards for data visualization, analysis, and management.
- Automate operational processes and workflows.
- Integrate APIs, databases, and external platforms.
- Develop tools related to market analysis, risk management, hedging, and commodity management.
- Implement and integrate algorithms and quantitative models developed by the team.
- Maintain, debug, and improve existing applications.
- Document code and the key functionalities developed.
- Collaborate with technology providers and external developers when required.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who can work with a high degree of autonomy, has a strong problem-solving mindset, and is able to quickly understand complex business requirements.

Requirements include:

- Experience in software development and/or web application development.
- Strong knowledge of Python and good knowledge of Java.
- Experience with SQL or MongoDB databases and dataset management.
- Familiarity with REST APIs and the integration of external services.




- Knowledge of Git and version control tools.
- Ability to develop robust, modular, and easily maintainable solutions.
- Good command of technical English.
- Ability to work independently while meeting agreed objectives and deadlines.

Nice to Have

- Full Stack development experience.
- Knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React, Next.js, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, Docker, and application deployment.
- Knowledge of data analysis and data visualization tools.
- Experience in fintech, trading, commodities, banking, or asset management.
- Familiarity with market data, trading systems, Bloomberg, LME, CME, or other financial platforms.
- Experience integrating quantitative models, algorithms, or AI-based systems.

Collaboration Model

The collaboration will be structured on a freelance, project-based basis, with objectives, deliverables, and timelines defined for each individual project.

The work can be carried out primarily remotely, with regular meetings and coordination with the team.

Ideally, we are looking for someone interested not only in developing individual features or solutions, but also in establishing a long-term collaboration across multiple projects within the Group.
