The position is accountable for establishing and operationalizing best-in-class controls to prevent serious injuries and fatalities (LIFE exposures), with a primary focus on bhigh-energy electrical systems and multi-contractor commissioning environments /b.
/p pThe Senior Manager partners closely with Services, Engineering, and EHS teams to: /p ul liDrive consistent, safe execution of commissioning globally /li liDefine and standardize safe systems of work /li liEnsure compliance with applicable regulatory and statutory requirements /li liReduce exposure through practical field controls, auditing, and governance /li /ul h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liGlobal Commissioning Safety Execution /li liLead global alignment on safe execution of commissioning activities, particularly in high-energy environments /li liEnsure consistent application of controls across regions, teams, and project types /li liSupport field teams in managing real-time risk and decision-making under schedule pressure /li liStandards, Procedures, and Safe Systems of Work /li liDevelop and maintain global standards for: ul liElectrical safety (arc flash, lockout/tagout, energized work) /li liCommissioning practices and task execution /li liHigh-risk activities in construction and service environments /li /ul /li liEnsure standards are practical, scalable, and consistently applied /li liMulti-Contractor Environment Work Coordination /li liDefine expectations for safe work in complex, multi-contractor construction environments /li liClarify roles, responsibilities, and isolation ownership across Vertiv, customers, and third parties /li liEstablish requirements for contractor alignment and shared accountability /li liGlobal Services Alignment Field Integration /li liPartner with global Services leadership to ensure procedures are executable in real-world conditions /li liDrive adoption through collaboration, field engagement, and continuous feedback loops /li liAlign EHS and Services organizations on practical implementation and expectations /li liSafe Design NPDI Integration /li liPartner with Engineering to embed engineering controls into products and systems /li liInfluence NPDI processes to ensure design for safe commissioning, serviceability,
and reduced exposure /li liAdvocate for solutions that minimize the need for energized work and cabinet access /li liElectrical Safety Strategy LIFE Exposure Reduction /li liDefine and advance the global strategy for electrical safety and LIFE exposure prevention /li liEstablish expectations for energy isolation, verification of absence of voltage, and energized work controls /li liMonitor emerging risks and technologies to continuously strengthen controls /li liAuditing, Inspection Field Verification /li liEstablish and lead a global approach for auditing and inspecting electrical and commissioning work /li liConduct and/or oversee field audits, site inspections, and targeted reviews of high-risk activities /li liVerify that standards are not only defined but consistently executed in the field /li liIdentify systemic gaps and drive timely corrective actions and accountability /li liRegulatory Statutory Compliance /li liEnsure global alignment with applicable regulatory, statutory, and legal requirements related to electrical safety and construction activities /li liPartner with regional EHS teams to interpret and apply local requirements in a consistent, practical manner /li liMonitor regulatory developments and ensure standards and practices remain current and compliant /li liIncident Learning Continuous Improvement /li liLead analysis of electrical and commissioning-related incidents and near misses /li liApply Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles to identify systemic improvements /li liTranslate insights into standards, design changes, and field practices /li liCapability Building Communication /li liBuild organizational capability through clear guidance, coaching, and leadership engagement /li liReinforce expectations aligned with "We Lead with Safety" /li liEnable a culture where risk is understood, communicated, and actively managed /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 h3Required /h3 ul li10+ years of experience in electrical safety, commissioning,
or high-risk industrial environments /li liDemonstrated expertise in: ul liHigh-energy electrical systems (e.g., data centers, UPS, industrial power systems) /li liArc flash and electrical hazard management /li liLockout/tagout and establishing safe work conditions /li /ul /li liExperience working in construction or multi-contractor environments /li liProven ability to influence across Engineering, Operations, and Services organizations /li liStrong understanding of global safety standards and regulatory frameworks /li liExperience with auditing, inspection, and compliance verification programs /li liAbility to translate technical risk into practical field controls /li /ul h3Preferred /h3 ul liExperience with data center or mission-critical infrastructure environments /li liDirect involvement in NPDI or engineering design processes /li liExperience leading global or multi-regional programs /li liFamiliarity with lean operating systems and continuous improvement frameworks /li /ul h3Education and Certifications /h3 ul liBachelor's degree in Engineering, Safety, or related field or equivalent practical experience /li liProfessional certifications preferred (e.g., Certified Safety Professional or equivalent) /li /ul h3Travel Time Required /h3 ul liApproximately *****% global travel (annualized) /li liTravel demand will be variable, with periods of higher intensity based on project activity, audits, incident response, and business needs /li /ul h3Work Authorization /h3 pNo calls or agencies please.
