Avnet, Inc. a Fortune 500 company and one of the global leaders in the field of distribution of electronic components is looking for a Backend Developer with strong Python experience to design and build scalable, high-performance services. You will work on innovative projects ranging from data platforms to AI/LLM integrations, directly contributing to the company's digital transformation.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI
- Build scalable and high-performance APIs for internal applications
- Work with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
- Design and optimize big data processing pipelines
- Perform and optimize large-scale data transformations using Apache Spark on private cloud clusters
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data, frontend, business)
- Manage code versioning using GitHub
- Contribute to modern software architecture design
- Optimize system performance and reliability.
The Ideal Person:
- Must have:
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Hands-on experience with FastAPI
- Experience with NoSQL databases, especially MongoDB
- Strong experience working with big data systems and large-scale datasets
- Proven ability to optimize performance of data transformations , particularly using Apache Spark
- Experience working with distributed computing environments (e.g. private cloud clusters)
- Familiarity with version control systems (GitHub or similar)
- Experience building RESTful APIs
- Solid understanding of backend architectures and microservices
- High proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Neo4j
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure
- Experience with Elasticsearch
- Background in AI / Machine Learning (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Familiarity with data pipelines and analytics systems.
