The Opportunity
We are working with a fast-growing European Independent Power Producer (IPP) looking to appoint aStructured Finance Associateto its team in Milan.
The business develops, invests in, finances, owns and operates renewable energy assets across multiple European markets, with a growing portfolio acrosssolar, wind and battery energy storage (BESS).
The Structured Finance Associate will play a key role in arranging and executing financing solutions across the company's development and operational portfolio.
Working closely with the investment, M&A;, development and finance teams, the successful candidate will have significant exposure to lenders, institutional investors, advisers and senior management.
This is an attractive opportunity for someone looking to move into aprincipal-side environmentand take greater ownership of financing transactions across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Support the structuring, execution and closing ofproject finance and structured finance transactionsacross renewable energy and BESS projects.
Build, maintain and review detailed financial models covering debt sizing, project returns, sensitivities and financing scenarios.
HoldCo and portfolio financing
Bridge facilities
Corporate and structured debt solutions
Support negotiations with commercial banks, infrastructure debt funds and other financing institutions.
Prepare lender materials, financing presentations, information packs and internal investment papers.
Manage and coordinate financing due diligence across technical, legal, tax, insurance and commercial workstreams.
Review and support the negotiation of term sheets, facility agreements and other financing documentation.
Work closely with internalM&A; and investment teamsto assess financing assumptions for acquisitions and new investment opportunities.
Support the financing of projects from development through construction and into operations.
Analyse project economics, including power price assumptions, PPAs, merchant exposure, CAPEX, OPEX and debt capacity.
Monitor existing financing arrangements, covenant compliance and refinancing opportunities across the operating portfolio.
Develop and maintain relationships with European banks, debt funds, advisers and other financing partners.
Support senior management in developing the group's broader financing and capital structure strategy.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Approximately3–6 years' relevant experiencewithin project finance, structured finance, infrastructure finance or renewable energy.
Experience gained within anIPP, renewable energy developer, infrastructure investor, investment bank, commercial bank, debt fund or financial advisory business.
Strong financial modelling capabilities and confidence working with complex project finance models.
Previous transaction experience withinrenewable energy, power or infrastructure.
Understanding of project finance structures, debt sizing, DSCR, sensitivities and project-level cash flows.
Exposure to financing documentation and lender due diligence processes.
Strong analytical and commercial judgement.
Ability to manage several transaction workstreams simultaneously.
Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with lenders, advisers and senior internal stakeholders.
A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset suited to a growing IPP environment.
