Find your calling at Mercy The Lab Support Technician (LST I) is part of the provider care team acting in a support capacity for reports, data and scheduling functions of the laboratory. This position is responsible for providing accurate, timely and effective provision of laboratory support. The LST I will be required to exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with the Mercy Signature Service with all internal and external customer interactions. The LST I is responsible as required for the skillful acquisition of laboratory specimens for testing, utilizing safe, accurate, effective, professional methodologies while observing HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies. The LST I will be responsible for all processing, transport and referral of all types of laboratory specimens and reports as required. In order for the co-worker to achieve the competencies of the LST I position they must be observed by laboratory management or designee and complete all departmental checklists for the LST I position. Schedule: 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Position Overview

The Lab Support Technician I (LST I) provides essential laboratory support through specimen collection, processing, reporting, and administrative functions. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient laboratory operations while delivering exceptional customer service consistent with Mercy's Mission, Values, and Service Standards.

The LST I performs phlebotomy and specimen handling using safe, accurate, and professional techniques while maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations. This position also supports laboratory workflow through specimen processing, transport, referral coordination, and report distribution.
