Firegate Entertainment is an independent game studio dedicated to creating mature, story-driven dark fantasy RPGs. Our games explore complex characters, morally challenging choices, violence, romance, sexuality, and other adult themes through immersive worlds and engaging gameplay systems.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a talented Freelance Spine 2D Animator to create character animations for the 2D combat system of one of our upcoming games.

The ideal candidate must be able to both illustrate characters in the game’s established art style and rig and animate them using Spine 2D. The completed animations will be prepared for integration into the game engine.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Illustrate characters and assets while closely matching the game’s established artistic style.
- Rig and animate 2D characters using Spine.
- Create polished combat animations, including attacks, spells, movement, reactions, and defeat sequences.
- Prepare animation assets for integration into the game engine.




- Collaborate with our art and development teams to ensure visual and technical consistency.

REQUIREMENTS

- Proven experience with Spine 2D.
- Strong 2D illustration skills.
- Experience with character rigging and combat animation.
- Ability to accurately reproduce an established art style.
- Ability to prepare clean, game-ready animation assets.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Comfort working on games featuring mature and adult-oriented content.
- Previous experience in game development is preferred.

SELECTION PROCESS The selection process consists of three stages:

1. Introductory interview
2. Technical interview
3. Final offer
