About the Role The Draftsman ensures the timely development of accurate and reliable technical drawings and documentation that support engineering, manufacturing and construction activities throughout the project lifecycle.
The role translates engineering concepts into clear, compliant and high-quality technical documentation, ensuring alignment with project requirements, applicable standards and Company procedures.
Responsibilities
Design Production
- Support the Design Engineer throughout the design development process, ensuring compliance with internal guidelines, procedures and project requirements.
- Develop detailed drawings for machinery, steel structures and other project components, using CAD and 3D modelling sofware (e.g. AutoCAD, Inventor), ensuring alignment with engineering calculations, design requirements and applicable standards.
- Translate engineering concepts, calculations and design requirements into accurate, clear and complete technical drawings.
- Produce and update 2D and 3D drawings and models, ensuring the accuracy,
consistency and completeness of engineering documentation before issue.
- Incorporate design revisions, engineering changes and customer comments into technical drawings, ensuring proper document control and traceability.
- Coordinate with Design Engineers and other internal functions to collect technical information and support the development of engineering documentation.
- Coordinate with external engineering and drafting consultants, reviewing drawings, sketches, specifications and technical information to ensure consistency with approved design concepts.
- Discuss and implement design revisions and technical changes agreed with the Design Engineer/Engineering Manager.
- Verify that drawings comply with customer specifications, contractual requirements, applicable codes, standards and Company procedures.
Document Management
- Maintain and archive engineering drawings and technical documentation within the Company's document management systems in accordance with internal procedures.
- Support technical clarifications related to drawings and engineering documentation during project execution, when required.
Technical Development
- Maintain and continuously develop the technical and professional competencies required for the role through active participation in training, learning and development initiatives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of business processes and organizational performance by identifying improvement opportunities, reporting issues and supporting the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Company policies, the Code of Ethics, applicable laws and regulations, as well as Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) standards and requirements.
Qualifications
- Technical diploma (Industrial/Mechanical background) or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
- At least 2-3 years of experience as a Draftsman in mechanical and/or steel structures design.
- Good knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD design software, particularly AutoCAD and Inventor.
- Ability to develop and manage technical drawings and models with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of technical drawing principles, standards and documentation processes.
- Good English knowledge
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to drawing quality.
- Proactive approach, problem-solving attitude and commitment to continuous learning and development.
Position report to the Head of Engineering. Activities are mainly performed at our offices in Cargnacco (Udine), with occasional site missions.
Pay range and compensation package
Annual base salary from 30,000€ to 35,000€ based on experience and qualifications.
