Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager with a strong background in the tourism industry to take overall responsibility for our operations department.
The ideal candidate will lead and develop the Operations team, oversee the end-to-end delivery of our services, manage supplier relationships and contracts, and ensure operational efficiency and profitability.
This is a hands-on management role within a growing company, requiring autonomy, strong decision-making and a proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations and delivery of all travel services, ensuring quality, deadlines and budgets are met.
- Lead, manage and develop the Operations team, including recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management.
- Take ownership of the existing supplier portfolio, reviewing contracts, rates and commercial conditions.
- Renegotiate existing supplier contracts to improve rates, payment terms, cancellation policies and overall commercial conditions.
- Scout and negotiate with new suppliers to continuously improve the company's network and competitiveness.
- Manage operational budgets, forecasting and cost control.
- Monitor operational performance and implement improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
- Identify and resolve operational issues and risks.
- Collaborate with Sales and Management to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior operational role within the tourism/travel industry.
- Strong knowledge of tourism suppliers, particularly hotels, transportation and ground services.
- Proven experience in team management and supplier/contract negotiation.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
- Excellent communication skills in English, Italian and French; additional languages are a plus.
- Proficiency in operational software and business tools.
- Hands-on, proactive and commercially minded approach.
