Its goal is to consolidate and strengthen FAO's innovative spirit, including the innovation of approaches and cooperation models. OIN supports the Programme Priority Areas, ensuring that FAO mainstreams innovation in its programmes, facilitates cross-collaboration between the various FAO units and aids in forging and reinforcing transformative partnerships. The position is located in OIN at FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy. **Reporting Lines** The Innovation Officer reports to a OIN Senior Innovation Officer and works closely with other staff across OIN. **Technical Focus** **Key Results** **Key Functions**- Collects and analyses relevant technical, social, economic, environmental, institutional and technology related information, data and/or statistics to support the delivery of programme projects, products and services relating to policy and governance.- Undertakes analysis, provides technical input for plans and reports and edits/revises technical/scientific documents.- Participates in the development of improved work methods, tools and systems.- Updates databases and web pages.- Participates in multidisciplinary project/work teams and missions.- Collaborates in the development of training tools and materials and the organization of workshops/seminars, etc.- Participates in the organization, conduct and follow-up of meetings, consultations and conferences,



the development/production of required materials and the provision of information and assistance to partners. **___________________________________________________** **CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING** **Minimum Requirements**- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in international relations, political science, international cooperation for development, development economics, business administration, marketing or a related field. Working knowledge (proficient - level C) of English and limited knowledge (intermediate - level B) of another official FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish). **Competencies**- Results Focus- Teamwork- Communication- Building effective relationships- Knowledge sharing and continuous improvement **Technical/Functional Skills**
- Work experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions, is desirable.
- Relevance and extent of experience on Sprint Programmes within innovation or technology-driven sectors, including for private sector organizations.
- Relevance and extent of experience supporting stakeholders and partners, including inter-organizational project collaboration.
- Extent and relevance of experience in engaging with various stakeholders, leaders and external groups with sophistication and sensitivity.
- Extent and relevance of experience in creating superior written content, including visually engaging PowerPoint presentations and textual documents, to articulate the mission and vision of OIN to various audiences.
