Most importantly Colonna Campus teachers are professionals who carry out their duties responsibly and with regard for the best interests of the students and the School.**Teaching and Learning**: - Design, prepare and deliver high quality, purposeful and productive learning opportunities that guide students towards engagement in content and support them to develop and learn new skills.
- Inspire mixed culture and ability classes, by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students.




- Encourage a risk taking culture where students feel safe and empowered to explore new ideas and possibilities.
- Demonstrate an awareness of Assessment for Learning strategies and personalise the learning of all students as appropriate.
- Participate in peer lesson observations both within and beyond their section/department as a means of sharing best practice.
- Use teaching strategies that allow for the full range of ability and learning styles in each class, particularly taking into account the learning needs of EAL and SEND students.
- Complete report writing at the relevant times in the academic year and award internal grades as required.Below sets out the generic main duties and responsibilities of any teacher at St Louis School, Colonna Campus. **PROFESSIONAL DUTIES**: - Manage student behaviour in the classroom and everywhere around the school through establishing a safe, calm, productive learning environment.
- Ensure the safety and good conduct of the students following the guidance in the school’s Behaviour Policy (and the disciplinary framework) and to enforce the Student’s Code of Conduct and School Uniform Policy.
- Be familiar with the school’s health and safety policies and procedures and be responsible for their personal health and safety and that of the students.
- Be familiar with the contents of the Staff Handbook, the Parent Handbook,



the Schools vision and mission, and school policies and endeavour to follow these closely.
- Support and foster the aims and ethos of the school.
- Attend parent evenings/conferences and similar important functions both in and out of normal school hours (included in the additional 100 hours). **Professional Development**: - Engage in continuous professional learning and regularly reflect on their professional practice to continuously deepen their knowledge and expertise.
- Attend staff meetings and all relevant professional development opportunities planned and conducted at the school as requested by the Head of Section and/or SLT.
- Seek out relevant professional development training opportunities to support their own professional growth and their annual professional goal.
- Complete the essential ‘EduCare’ online training courses as shared at the start of each academic year, and any additional Educare course they wish to. **Additional Expectations**: - Notify the Head of Section by telephone as early as possible, and by 7:15 at the latest, if absent from school and ensure they have set rigourous, appropriate work.
- Carry out such duties, including cover for absent colleagues, as are allocated to them by their Head of Section or SLT, punctually and efficiently.
