Good news: the company is expanding its operations in Italy and is looking for talent to join as Solar Field Technicians.
Open Position
We are looking for experienced photovoltaic field technicians to join our client's growing team in Italy. The role involves hands-on technical activities at solar plants, ensuring optimal performance, maintenance and fault resolution of photovoltaic systems.
Location
We are recruiting for solar plants in the following region:
Ravenna, Rovigo, Veneto and Ferrara.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
- Installation, commissioning and testing of utility-scale photovoltaic plants
- Connection of solar panels, inverters and electrical components according to technical specifications
- System integration and grid connection procedures
- Preliminary inspections and quality checks
Maintenance & Operations
- Preventive and corrective maintenance on solar plants
- Diagnosis and resolution of electrical and mechanical faults in PV systems
- Performance monitoring and identification of optimization areas
- Replacement of defective components (panels, inverters, cables, electrical panels)
Safety & Compliance
- Adherence to all health and safety regulations on site
- Risk assessment and implementation of safety protocols
- Compliance with Italian electrical standards and current regulations
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and site visits
Technical Support
- Technical support to the operations team
- Collaboration with engineers and project managers for system improvements
- Reporting of technical issues and recommendation of solutions
- Support for commissioning activities on new installations
Essential Requirements
Technical Qualifications
- Electrical qualification or equivalent technical certification
- Proven experience on photovoltaic systems (minimum 2–3 years preferred)
- Knowledge of solar inverters, transformers and electrical distribution systems
- Understanding of high and low voltage electrical systems
- Familiarity with solar plant O&M; procedures
Languages
- Fluent Italian (essential for daily activities and client communication)
- English (preferred for technical documentation)
Location & Mobility
- Residence in Emilia-Romagna or willingness to reach the indicated locations
- Valid Italian or EU driving licence (essential for site visits)
- Availability to travel between different solar plants in the region
- Flexibility for occasional overnight stays
- Proximity to solar plants considered an advantage
Personal Skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and technical aptitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and quality-oriented approach
- Ability to work effectively in an international environment
- Proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement
Desirable Skills
- Experience with SCADA systems and remote monitoring platforms
- Knowledge of battery energy storage systems (BESS)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations or Italian equivalent (CEI standards)
- Experience on utility-scale solar plants (MW-scale projects)
- Relevant HSE certifications for electrical work
- Experience with thermography and diagnostic tools
- Experience in international environments
