Chaberton Professionals, a division of Chaberton Partners dedicated to the research and selection of Middle & Top Management profiles, is currently looking for a Head of Finance & Controlling Italy for a leading multinational industrial group, recognized as a market leader within its sector and operating through a diversified international footprint.

Position

As part of its continued growth and organizational evolution, the company is seeking a Head of Finance & Controlling Italy to lead the local Finance function and support the next phase of performance enhancement, operational excellence and organizational integration across the Italian business.

Reporting Line

Reporting directly to the BU West CFO, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Operations Director Italy, the Head of Finance & Controlling Italy will be a key member of both the regional Finance leadership team and the Italian management team.

The role is based in Italy and requires regular travel across the company's Italian operations.

The Opportunity The Head of Finance & Controlling Italy will play a pivotal role in strengthening the financial performance management capabilities of the Italian organization, acting as the primary business partner to Operations and local leadership teams.

The position goes beyond traditional finance management responsibilities and is particularly suited to a finance leader with a strong background in controlling, performance management and business partnering. The successful candidate will be expected to drive a culture of data-driven decision making, providing actionable financial insights to support operational excellence, profitability improvement and strategic growth.

A key aspect of the role will be the further development and harmonization of management reporting, planning and controlling processes, ensuring full alignment between local operations and Corporate Finance. The individual will actively contribute to the ongoing integration and post-merger journey, supporting the standardization of reporting practices, performance indicators, governance frameworks and financial processes across the Italian perimeter.

Beyond ensuring the effectiveness and reliability of day-to-day financial operations, the role will be instrumental in enhancing financial governance, supporting business performance, strengthening management reporting and fostering the integration of the Italian organization within a broader international and matrix environment.

Key Responsibilities

Controlling, Reporting & Performance Management

- Lead all management controlling activities across the Italian organization, ensuring accurate and timely visibility on business performance.
- Own the budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes, challenging assumptions and supporting strategic decision-making.
- Develop and continuously improve management reporting tools, dashboards and performance indicators to enhance business visibility and accountability.




- Deliver meaningful financial analyses on revenues, margins, costs, working capital and operational performance, identifying risks, opportunities and improvement actions.
- Monitor business performance against targets, proactively highlighting deviations and driving corrective action plans together with operational stakeholders.
- Strengthen financial planning and analytical capabilities across the organization, promoting a performance-oriented culture.
- Prepare and present financial reporting packages to local and Group management, ensuring transparency and consistency of information.

Business Partnering
- Act as the primary Finance Business Partner to the Operations Director and local management team, supporting key operational and strategic decisions.
- Translate financial information into actionable business insights, enabling informed decision-making at both local and corporate levels.
- Challenge and support operational teams on productivity, profitability, pricing, investment decisions and resource allocation.
- Partner closely with Operations, HR and other business functions to improve business performance and drive sustainable value creation.
- Support the leadership team in evaluating business initiatives, capital investments and strategic projects through robust financial analysis.
- Foster a culture of financial awareness and accountability across the organization.

Finance Leadership & Governance
- Lead all Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Tax and Administrative activities across the Italian operations.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial reporting in compliance with local regulations and Group standards.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities, including statutory and management reporting.
- Manage cash flow planning, treasury activities and banking relationships.
- Ensure the reliability of financial data and the effectiveness of financial governance processes.

Finance Transformation, Integration & Change Management
- Drive the ongoing harmonization of controlling methodologies, reporting standards and performance management processes across the Italian entities.
- Support the integration of local reporting structures into the Group Finance framework, ensuring consistency, transparency and comparability of financial information.
- Act as a key contributor in the alignment of local operations with Corporate Finance guidelines, policies, systems and governance models.
- Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, including ERP optimization,



reporting automation and process standardization.
- Promote a culture of financial discipline, accountability and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Support change management activities associated with the integration journey and the evolution of the operating model.

Compliance, Risk & Internal Controls
- Ensure full compliance with Italian accounting, tax and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate relationships with auditors, tax advisors, financial institutions and external stakeholders.
- Strengthen internal control frameworks and ensure adherence to Group compliance standards and policies.
- Oversee statutory reporting, tax filings and audit processes.

Leadership
- Lead, develop and mentor the local Finance team, fostering accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Promote a high-performance culture, ensuring alignment with Group values and objectives.
- Support talent development and succession planning within the Finance function.

Requirements:

Education

- Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent.

Professional Experience

- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in senior Finance leadership positions.
- Proven track record within multinational and matrix organizations.
- Strong experience in Controlling, FP&A;, Financial Reporting and Performance Management.
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a strategic business partner to Operations and senior management teams.
- Previous exposure to integration, transformation or post-merger environments is highly desirable.
- Strong exposure to industrial, manufacturing or operationally driven businesses.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary finance teams and complex stakeholder environments.

Technical Competencies

- Strong knowledge of Italian GAAP and IFRS.
- Solid expertise in Financial Planning & Analysis, Controlling, Reporting, Treasury and Tax.
- Strong capability in budgeting, forecasting, business planning and performance monitoring.
- Experience with ERP systems and modern reporting and business intelligence tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-support capabilities.
- Ability to translate financial data into strategic business recommendations.

Languages

- Fluent Italian and English

Compensation Package

- Gross Salary Target € 100.000
