We reimagine the possible across the nuclear industry every day. /ph3About the role: /h3pAs a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer you will perform supplier quality activities including audits/assessments, surveys, inspections, oversight, and verification at Westinghouse supplier facilities. /ppYou will be part of the APX Supplier Quality Team with a specific focus on suppliers providing ASME Boiler Pressure Vessel (BPV) Code materials and components for the AP1000 Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS). /ppYou will report to the Senior Manager, Supplier Quality NSSS. /ppThis is a hybrid position based in Monfalcone, Italy, requiring onsite presence three days per week. /ppRelocation assistance is provided for eligible candidates. /ppApplicants based in European Union countries are encouraged to apply. /ph3Key Responsibilities: /h3ulliDevelop and implement supplier surveillance and oversight plans to ensure compliance with quality and technical standards. /liliResolve supplier quality issues which adversely impact product quality. /liliPerform independent assessments and oversight to confirm that suppliers have established and implemented an effective quality management system. This system must ensure that nuclear safety-related and/or ASME BPV Code Section III materials, and components meet all quality, regulatory, and customer requirements specified in purchasing documents. /liliMonitor progress to achieve established quality goals within budgetary and schedule constraints. /liliCreate certification documents, which identify the procurement requirements met by the purchased material or equipment, such as codes, standards, and other specifications imposed by Westinghouse Customers,
for major equipment and components. /liliLead assessments of the global supply base to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, codes and standards. /liliEvaluate supplier quality plans and processes to verify compliance with quality and technical requirements defined by Westinghouse Engineering. /liliApply advanced quality control techniques and statistical methods for collection of deficiency information to identify failure causes and trends, rate performance and measure the effectiveness of supplier QA programs, and internal processes. /liliWrite detailed segments of QA plans/programs according to current U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Westinghouse and customer QA standards for nuclear and non-nuclear facilities. /liliImplement policies on scope and retention requirements of quality assurance documentation. /li /ulh3Qualifications: /h3ulliA bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline /lili5+ years of experience as a Supplier Quality Professional or similar role is required. /liliNQA-1 Certified Lead Auditor experience is desirable. /liliProficiency in using several inspection tools like calipers, gauges, micrometers, and specialized testing equipment (IMTE) is desirable. /liliCompetency with generating, reviewing, approving, and archiving electronic quality documents and records. /liliAudit and supplier source surveillance experience is required. /liliExperience operating within a formal quality management system (for example ISO 9001, AS9100, ASME NQA-1)
