Role Description
This full-time, on-site Zookeeper role is based in the 5th municipality of Naples. The Zookeeper will provide daily care for a variety of animals, including feeding, cleaning enclosures, monitoring health, and maintaining accurate records. The role involves observing and documenting animal behavior, supporting enrichment activities, and assisting with habitat maintenance to ensure welfare and safety standards are met. The Zookeeper will collaborate with veterinary and animal care teams, follow established protocols for handling and transport,
and may assist with educational programs or visitor information as needed. The position requires adherence to health, safety, and regulatory guidelines while working in outdoor and potentially physically demanding conditions.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Animal Care and Animal Handling for daily husbandry and safe interaction.
- Knowledge of Zoology and Animal Behavior to support welfare, enrichment, and observation.
- Experience or interest in Wildlife management and conservation practices in a zoological setting.
- Ability to follow detailed care protocols, maintain records, and communicate clearly with team members.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, work outdoors in varying weather, and handle moderate lifting.
- Prior experience in a zoo, wildlife park, or animal care facility is highly beneficial.
- Relevant education such as a degree or certification in zoology, animal science, biology, or a related field is preferred.
- Commitment to ethical animal treatment, safety standards, and continuous learning in animal care practices.
