So, everything we do at CNH Industrial is about reaching new heights as one team, always delivering for the good of our customers. **Job Purpose**: The role of Patent Counsel at CNH will be to secure and maintain the IP Rights of the company, minimize IP risks associated with commercialization, and facilitate business activities.Patent Counsel will interface with all departments of the company.**Key Responsibilities**: - Carry out patent investigations, freedom-to-operate studies, and patent landscape studies and prepare patent opinions.
- Advise Product Development on patent infringement issues, design-around options, and patentability of proposed designs.
- Carry out patent due diligence and patent asset valuations.
- Police an assigned portion of the patent portfolio of CNH.
- Review patents and patent activities of competitors. Review products for patentable ideas. Review and evaluate invention disclosures.
- Monitor company activities to prevent Intellectual Property infringement. Monitor competitors' products for possible infringements of the CNH patent portfolio.
- Coordinate appropriate action to remedy infringing activities by competitors or other third parties.
- Monitor outside counsel when required.
- Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related contracts, joint development agreements, licenses, supplier agreements, non-disclosure agreements, scholarship agreements, co-development agreements with universities, field test agreements, and Memoranda of Understanding.Provide IP training to CNH personnel, including Engineering, Purchasing, Sales and Marketing. **Experience Required**: - Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a patent attorney
