About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize the end-to-end global logistics operations of our international group of companies. This role is responsible for managing the worldwide movement of high volumes of food products manufactured across multiple countries and distributed to a broad international customer base.

The successful candidate will ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective logistics operations while maintaining the highest standards of service, product integrity, and supply chain performance. This position requires strong commercial acumen, excellent negotiation skills, and extensive experience in international logistics within the food industry.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the international logistics operations for a diverse portfolio of food products produced in multiple countries and exported to a large number of global markets.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments across sea, air, road, and multimodal transportation networks.
- Ensure the timely and cost-effective movement of products while maintaining product quality, traceability, and regulatory compliance.
- Achieve on-time delivery performance targets of ≥95% across all international shipments and maintain delivery lead time adherence within agreed service windows.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies that improve operational efficiency and support the company’s international growth.
- Monitor and optimize logistics costs, including freight, warehousing, customs, insurance, handling, and related supply chain expenses, with a target of reducing total logistics costs by 5–10% annually.
- Maintain cost per ton/km or cost per shipment within defined budget thresholds and continuously benchmark against market rates.
- Lead commercial negotiations with freight forwarders, shipping lines, carriers, warehouse operators, customs brokers,



and other logistics service providers to secure competitive pricing and service levels.
- Establish, monitor, and manage logistics budgets, ensuring variance remains within ±3% of forecast and identifying cost reduction measures without compromising service quality.
- Maintain strong relationships with international logistics partners and suppliers, ensuring contractual compliance and achieving service level agreements (SLAs) of ≥98% accuracy and reliability.
- Oversee customs documentation, import/export regulations, and international trade compliance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring zero compliance violations.
- Collaborate closely with procurement, production, quality assurance, sales, and finance teams to ensure seamless supply chain execution.
- Monitor key logistics KPIs including on-time delivery, freight cost per unit, inventory transit time, shipment accuracy, and damage rates, maintaining product damage levels below 1%.
- Analyze performance data, identify operational risks, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and service levels.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce average transit times by 10–15% and improve overall supply chain responsiveness.
- Optimize warehouse and transport utilization rates, targeting ≥90% capacity utilization and minimizing empty miles or unused space.
- Ensure high inventory visibility and tracking accuracy, maintaining ≥99% shipment traceability across all logistics flows.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration,



Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree is considered an advantage.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in international logistics or supply chain management, preferably within the food, FMCG, or agribusiness sectors.
- Proven experience managing large volumes of internationally traded food products across multiple production sites and destination markets.
- Strong understanding of global shipping, customs procedures, international trade regulations, and Incoterms.
- Demonstrated expertise in logistics cost analysis, budgeting, and financial control.
- Extensive experience negotiating freight rates, logistics contracts, and service agreements with international logistics providers and suppliers.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong commercial mindset.
- Experience working within an international, multicultural corporate environment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Italian as a mother tongue is required, along with perfect mastery of English. Additional languages are considered an asset.
