Since 2006, Flashscore has been the fastest name in sports information. Our websites and apps reach 120 million people every month across the globe, making us a world leader in live sports data. Over the past four years we've expanded into sports news, working with independent journalists across more than 30 markets.
We're now looking for a freelance journalist to cover Italian sports news for our Italian-language editorial project — someone who knows Italian sport inside out, writes fluently in Italian, and wants to reach a genuinely global audience.
Responsibilities
- Follow sports news in Italy and around the world, and turn it into stories
- Write and edit content in Italian and publish it through our CMS
- Take ownership of the accuracy, timeliness and quality of your work
- Source appropriate photos to accompany your stories
- Coordinate with the wider Flashscore News network on coverage
- Contribute ideas on content, angles and how the project can improve
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Italian sport — football, tennis, athletics and beyond — plus a good grasp of major international events
- Complete fluency in Italian (C2 level or equivalent), both written and spoken, with excellent writing and communication skills
- Experience working in a CMS (WordPress or similar) and standard office tools (MS Office, Google Workspace)
- A reliable, self-organized way of working, with strong ownership of your own output
- Good judgment and composure when things move fast around live sporting events
- A genuine passion for sport and sports journalism
