MacGregor is building a brand-new Service Hub in Trieste, creating an exciting opportunity for experienced technical professionals to join the team at an early stage and grow together with the operation.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will work hands-on with complex mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems on marine equipment across Europe. Your work will take you onboard vessels, into shipyards and directly to customer sites.

What you’ll be doing
- Perform and supervise advanced service activities, including inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, refurbishments and upgrades.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Support complex technical investigations and problem solving.
- Work from technical drawings, manuals and documentation.
- Act as a trusted technical representative of MacGregor when working with customers onsite.
- Coach and support less experienced engineers and technicians.
- Prepare clear service reports and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with MacGregor colleagues and service teams across Europe.
- Follow all safety, environmental and site requirements.
What we’re looking for
You could come from marine, shipbuilding, industrial machinery, heavy equipment, cranes, hydraulics, electrical maintenance or another hands-on technical environment.
Ideally,
you have:
- Solid hands-on technical experience.
- A technical diploma, apprenticeship or degree in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, marine engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings and manuals.
- Confidence working independently in the field.
- Good English for onsite communication and technical reporting.
- A valid driving licence.
- Flexibility to travel extensively across Europe, including overnight and multi-week assignments.
