Why this Role Matters
This role plays a key part in keeping manufacturing equipment reliable, safe, and efficient. By troubleshooting automation and controls issues, supporting machine upgrades, and contributing to continuous improvement projects, the role helps minimize downtime and maintain production performance. Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers, this role also supports technology development, equipment safety, compliance, and business continuity while ensuring alignment with global Engineering, EHS, and IT standards.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain and troubleshoot controls and automation systems, resolving equipment performance issues and minimizing machine breakdowns to support daily production targets.
- Lead structured problem-solving activities using approaches such as 8D and A3, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Support machine retrofit, technology, and continuous improvement projects, including the implementation of new capabilities for safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Coordinate and supervise external suppliers involved in automation projects, equipment upgrades, technical installations, and equipment obsolescence management.
- Ensure automation and technical installations comply with global Engineering, EHS, IT, machine safety, and relevant industry standards, while proactively assessing and addressing risks.
- Collaborate with Facility, Electrical, Production, Procurement, Global Engineering, Global IT, and EHS teams to ensure successful project delivery and reliable equipment performance.
- Anticipate equipment and component obsolescence and support business continuity by identifying solutions, sharing technical knowledge, and contributing to the continuous improvement of manufacturing systems.
What We’re Looking For
- Master’s degree in Electromechanical, Controls Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field, with around 5 years of experience in tire manufacturing or a related industrial environment.
- Hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs and/or Rockwell and hardware programming; knowledge of Moeller systems would be an advantage.
- Strong experience in machine troubleshooting within a structured manufacturing environment, using methodologies such as 8D, A3, RCA, PMO, or similar approaches.
- Good understanding of electrical systems, electrical circuit drawings, equipment safety standards, CTIs, and relevant industry reliability requirements.
- Experience supporting technical projects and working with external suppliers, ideally within a matrix organization and cross-functional environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships, share knowledge, and contribute positively to team objectives.
- English at minimum B2 level is required; French language is an asset, together with the ability to react quickly to urgent situations and adapt to changing priorities.
