JOB TITLE: Partnerships Officer

TYPE OF CONTRACT: Consultancy

UNIT/DIVISION: Nutrition, School Meals and Social Protection (PRGS)

DUTY STATION (City, Country): Rome, Italy

DURATION: 4 months (renewable)

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: With over 60 years' experience in School Feeding, WFP has a trajectory of working with more than 100 countries to set up sustainable national school feeding programmes. WFP advocates for the universal adoption of school meals programmes as a safety net that helps increase children’s access to education and learning opportunities and supports their health and nutrition. WFP focuses increasingly on helping countries to establish and maintain nationally owned programmes.

In countries still requiring WFP’s operational support, it implements school feeding programmes with clear hand over strategies. In 2021, WFP supported the launch of the School Meals Coalition, and is hosting since its Secretariat. Demonstrating strong political engagement, the Coalition aims at ensuring that every child can receive a healthy, nutritious meal in school by 2030.

Today, more than 110 member countries and around 150 partners are working together to improve the quality, sustainability and scale of national school meals programmes. As a member of the School Meals Coalition Secretariat Coordination Team, the Consultant will join a multidisciplinary team supporting the coordination efforts across the Coalition’s membership and partners, ensuring smooth communication and visibility of school meals programmes to attract policy support and commitment.



Through a "hands on" and "make it happen" attitude and by proactively sharing insights and ideas with the team, the Consultant will contribute significantly to rallying Coalition’s members to advance school meal programmes worldwide and ensuring that every child receives a nutritious meal in school.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Coordinator of the School Meals Coalition Secretariat, the Consultant will be expected to support the timely and effective provision of coordination services and support the visibility and partnership efforts of the School Meals Coalition by: 1. Contributing to the organization of Coalition’s webinars and high-level events, ensuring excellence in logistics, protocol and stakeholder engagement. This includes developing concept notes, invitations, agendas, slide decks, briefs and notes for the record as well as supporting effective execution.

- Ensuring the knowledge management of Coalition and developing and disseminating knowledge products and tools to strengthen internal and external resources, including but not limited to advocacy tools, briefing packages, factsheets and infographics.
- Developing analysis and tracking mechanisms of Countries’ National Commitments to strengthen accountability and visibility of Coalition and country achievements, serving both internal and external purposes.
- Supporting the coordination of the School Meals Coalition membership groups, including by organizing meetings, facilitating interpretation, maintaining and disseminating essential documents, communicating with new members and compiling, curating and maintaining a list of contacts for external and internal emailing purposes.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key government and WFP functional units and Country Offices, 6. Contributing to the alignment of the Coalition’s objectives with WFP’s priorities to ensure complementarity and provide guidance to WFP staff on the Coalition’s mandate and goals.
- Perform any other duties as required.

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT: • Developed and shared knowledge products and resources, including reports and advocacy assets • Performed analysis of national commitments and developed tracking mechanisms • Actively supported the organization of the Ministerial Meeting of the Task Force and Global Summit • Supported coordination and technical needs for School Meals Coalition regular meetings (at least 5)

QUALIFICATIONS &

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Education: University degree in Social Science, International Relations, Development Studies, Communications, Public Relations or relevant field.

Experience: 4+ year of progressively responsible experience in partnerships or communication and knowledge management, preferably within international development or UN agencies. Knowledge &

• Strong partnership management skills with ability to build trust-based relationships across diverse stakeholders.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to draft highquality content for multiple audiences.
- Experience organizing events, workshops, and webinars across time zones and institutions.
- Proactive and detail-oriented team player, with flexibility, self-motivation,



and the ability to work independently while meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong time management skills with an ability to plan ahead, anticipate requirements, problems and obstacles, and an ability to juggle competing priorities successfully, and to work to tight deadlines • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative spirit able to liaise with a wide range of people at all levels and across different cultures and to act with credibility and diplomacy.
- Working knowledge on UN communication products, writing standards and terminology is an asset.
- Fully committed and motivated to achieve the aims of the School Meals Coalition and WFP.

Languages: • International Professional: Fluency (level C) in English language. Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, French, Spanish, Portuguese.
