This role sits within a globally respected project and strategic advisory organisation specialising in the delivery of world-class sports, entertainment, and large‑scale public venues. With an extensive international portfolio spanning major stadiums, arenas, and mixed use developments, the business provides end-to-end project leadership, strategic advisory and delivery services to public and private sector clients. Reporting to the Project Executive, the Senior Project Director will take overall responsibility for the day‑to‑day leadership and delivery of a landmark sports stadium development in Rome, overseeing multidisciplinary teams and ensuring the project is delivered to the highest standards of quality, programme and stakeholder satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities

- Overall Project Leadership & Governance
- Lead the day‑to‑day delivery of the stadium project, providing strategic direction,
governance and oversight across all project stages from design development through construction and handover.
- Team Leadership & Management – Directly manage and mentor the project delivery team, including Project Managers, Construction Managers, Project Controls and support staff, ensuring clear roles, accountability and high performance.
- Client & Stakeholder Management – Act as the primary senior interface with the client, authorities, consultants and key stakeholders, managing relationships, expectations and decision‑making on a complex, high‑profile development. xysqume
- Programme, Cost & Risk Control – Oversee project controls including programme, budget, risk and reporting, ensuring timely identification and mitigation of risks while maintaining alignment with project objectives.
Requirements

- Must be fluent in both English and Italian
- Must have 10 + years' experience in a similar role delivery high‑value sports/entertainment venues
- Must be based within a commutable distance of Rome
- Must have relevant degree level qualifications
