Assistant Plant Breeder The Assistant Plant Breeder will work in close collaboration with the Plant Breeder to support both short
- and long-term breeding objectives. The role involves active participation in all stages of the breeding program, including field and greenhouse work, trial management, data collection, and selection activities. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, organization, and management of field and greenhouse trials.
- Support the maintenance, collection, and conservation of plant germplasm.
- Develop a strong understanding of the crop’s cultivation requirements, morphology, and floral biology.
- Build expertise in analytical and evaluation methods used for clary sage genetic material.
- Contribute to the development of new high-performing varieties that meet internal quality and production targets.
- Collect, validate, and critically analyze phenotypic data from both field and greenhouse trials.
- Gather agronomic data from trials as well as commercial field conditions.
- Collect relevant crop performance and cultivation data from growers across different regions worldwide. **Qualifications**:



- Degree in Agriculture or a related discipline.
- Practical experience in plant breeding, field trial design, and sampling methodologies.
- Working knowledge of data collection and statistical analysis.
- Background in horticulture, botany, plant pathology, or greenhouse management is highly desirable.
- Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and a creative, problem-solving mindset.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and strong follow-through.
- Ability to work effectively in both field and controlled greenhouse environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Languages: English is mandatory; Italian and Spanish are considered a plus.
