/b /p h3Position Summary: /h3 pData Engineers at Datacolor are responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the data infrastructure that powers our products.
This position requires a strong engineer and persistent problem solver, who has a desire to:
1) take pride in overall data quality and architecture,
2) solve challenging problems around data movement and scale,
3) learn new skills as the need arises.
/p pThe Data Engineer is an experienced professional who collaborates on a team responsible for data transfers, database architecture, and building the foundation for big data initiatives with an eye toward artificial intelligence.
The main duties are to design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines and database systems, support the domain work of the product development teams, and to create and maintain the Microsoft Azure resources that support them, coordinating with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure.
Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality data products is essential.
You report directly to the Software Manager.
/p h3Essential Duties and Responsibilities: /h3 ul liDesign, build, and maintain efficient, reliable, and scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes /li liArchitect, implement, and maintain relational and non-relational database structures, including Azure SQL Database and Cosmos DB /li liCreate, configure, and maintain Microsoft Azure resources supporting data transfer, storage, and processing /li liBuild and orchestrate data workflows using Azure Data Factory /li liPrepare and structure data to support big data and artificial intelligence initiatives,

including integration with Azure Machine Learning and Cognitive Services /li liEnsure the best possible performance, quality, reliability, and security of data systems /li liCooperate with the backend and front-end development teams to ensure data is delivered efficiently to applications and APIs /li liCooperate with product management to develop products best suited to customer needs /li liResearch and experiment with new architecture, technologies, services, and tools /li liUnderstand the project domain in order to keep the data suite cohesive and customer-focused /li liCoordinate best practices among engineers on related data projects /li /ul h3Experience Qualifications: /h3 pYou have: /p ul liBachelor's or Master's degree in data engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent years of work experience /li liProven professional experience building data pipelines and database solutions with Microsoft Azure resources /li liStrong proficiency in SQL and C#/.
NET /li liHands?on experience with Azure resources such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, and Cosmos DB /li liFamiliarity with tools such as Power BI for reporting capabilities /li liFamiliarity with Azure Machine Learning and Cognitive Services, or a strong interest in applying data engineering practices to AI initiatives /li liKnowledge of best practices in database architecture, data modeling, and design patterns /li liUnderstanding of complex data structures and algorithms to solve problems /li liStrong organizational and communication skills /li liAnalytical mindset and strong problem?solving skills /li liAbility to prioritize and complete multiple tasks autonomously, with minimal supervision /li liCertification in Microsoft technologies is a plus /li liFluent English language, both oral and written, is a must /li liFluency in utilization of AI coding agents is a must /li /ul h3Location: /h3 pThis role is a hybrid role, based in our Reggio Emilia office, Italy.
