Piper Maddox is supporting a leading energy technology company looking for a

BESS Commissioning Engineer

to support the delivery and commissioning of large-scale battery storage projects across Europe and international markets.

This is a hands-on site-based role, working across commissioning, testing, troubleshooting and project acceptance, while collaborating with engineering, project management, R&D; and after-sales teams.

Responsibilities
Support the

commissioning, testing and acceptance of utility-scale BESS projects .
Commission and troubleshoot battery systems, including

BMS, HVAC/liquid cooling, fire suppression, DC and auxiliary AC systems .
Support the commissioning of

PCS and EMS .
Diagnose faults, resolve technical issues and manage defects through to closure.
Participate in

SAT, grid connection testing and project handover .
Support customer training on system operation and maintenance.
Work closely with

Project Management, R&D;, Quality and After-Sales teams





to resolve site issues.
Ensure all commissioning activities are completed safely and in line with EHS requirements.
Travel extensively and undertake longer-term assignments at international project sites.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in

Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy, Communications Engineering

or a related field.
1–3 years' experience

in electrical commissioning, energy projects or a similar environment.
Basic understanding of

BESS, PV or power systems , including BMS, PCS and EMS.
Ability to read

electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and communication drawings .
Knowledge of

CAN, Modbus RTU/TCP

or similar communication protocols.
Understanding of electrical systems, grid connection or substation equipment is advantageous.
Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.
English speaking skills.
Willingness to travel extensively internationally.

Desirable
Previous experience with

BESS, solar PV or wind projects .
LV/HV electrical qualifications.
International project experience.
Italian, Mandarin, Spanish or French language skills.
