I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a global leader in agricultural automation—a company renowned for its cutting-edge sorting, grading, and packing solutions for the fruit and vegetable sector.
They are expanding their R&D; team in Italy and looking for a talented Mechanical Design & R&D; Engineer to drive innovation in automated machinery.

As a key member of the engineering team, you'll take ownership of mechanical development projects from concept to commissioning.
You'll design, prototype, and validate high-performance machinery, working closely with automation and engineering teams across Italy, Spain, and China.
Design and optimize automated systems for the fruit & vegetable industry (e.g., handling, weighing, packing, palletizing).
Lead product development projects—from initial concept through prototyping, testing, and field validation.
Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks (Creo Parametric is a plus).
Collaborate with automation engineers on equipment integration, debugging, and performance optimization.
Support prototype construction, industrial field testing, and data-driven problem-solving.




Work closely with manufacturing teams and suppliers to ensure design-for-manufacturing and resolve technical issues during assembly.
Produce technical documentation, test reports, and R&D; records.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
Proven experience in automated machinery design—ideally custom/non-standard automation (e.g., box handling, filling, weighing, palletizing, case packing).
Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD; Creo Parametric is a plus.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, welding, assembly).
Ability to lead projects independently and solve complex technical challenges.
Fluent in Italian or Spanish (English or Mandarin is a strong advantage).
Willingness to travel occasionally for testing and commissioning.
Experience in fruit & vegetable, food, packaging, or logistics machinery.
Familiarity with industrial automation systems and mechanical integration.
Previous experience developing products from initial concept to production.
Work on innovative, high-impact projects in the agri-tech space.
